FARCYCLES - Who are we?

Picture
We lobby for cycling infrastructure improvements and influence policymakers on cycling investment. The environment and sustainability are paramount.

We are also a loosely connected bunch of a couple of hundred people on bicycles  - of all ages and abilities - who just love cycling together in the stunning countryside around faringdon in oxfordshire;  into wiltshire, gloucestershire, berkshire...

And - we DO have a MISSION STATEMENT - should you be wondering.

We try to provide a home for cyclists in the wider Faringdon area, and we try to promote the wonderful benefits and joys of cycling.  We try to be as inclusive as possible. We try to cater for all ages, abilities and confidence levels. We even tolerate tandems. We don't ask for subscriptions, but there's endless other ways in which farcyclists contribute to the cause; from being ride leaders,  to helping with Le TOUR de Farcycles Sportive,  to bikeability training,  to lobbying our MP - to name but a few.

You don't like history?  I'm not surprised.  But at least ours is short.

You like CAKE? Check out the BLUE RIDE.

You're up for a challenge involving the stunning Cotswold countryside? Why not take part in our Le TOUR de Farcycles?

You think cyclists are a menace - and should be paying road tax?  You've probably stumbled onto this website by accident and should get out while you can - before you get converted.

And you think photos are self-indulgent nonsense - simply trying to convince others that their lives are somehow better than yours? You're probably right - but so what?  Here's a selection of self-indulgent selfies by farcyclists pretending to enjoy themselves.

You're worried - because you've got a cronky old wreck in the garage and no lycra? In that case,  WhimCycles on Sunday mornings might be just what you're looking for.

P.S. We often get asked about the pronunciation of Farcycles and Whimcycles . Easy. They rhymes with "bi-sikkels" - kind of.
